How it works
Every modern vehicle uses a CAN-bus network — a high-speed digital communication system that links the engine control unit, instrument cluster, gearbox, ABS, and dozens of other modules. Distance data travels across this network continuously, and the instrument cluster reads those signals to update the odometer.
The Cadillac Escalade Mileage Blocker installs in-line on the specific CAN-bus line that carries distance pulses toward the instrument cluster. It intercepts those signals at the wiring level — before they reach the cluster — and, depending on the selected operating mode, suppresses them entirely or reduces them to a set percentage.
The device uses vehicle-specific, original-type connectors and fits entirely within the existing wiring loom. No wires are cut, no soldering is required, and no coding or software changes are made to the vehicle. Removing the device restores the vehicle to its exact factory state.
Because the device operates at the physical wiring layer — not through the OBD-II port or any software interface — its presence cannot be detected by standard diagnostic equipment. It leaves no trace in the vehicle's fault memory. The device retains the last selected mode between ignition cycles.
Vehicle behaviour notes
Check engine light — 5th Gen (2021–2024): The check-engine light may illuminate while the mileage blocker is in use. This is a known characteristic of the vehicle's onboard diagnostic system and does not indicate any fault with the engine or drivetrain. Remote start is unavailable while the device is active. If the vehicle is equipped with Super Cruise, the Super Cruise/Autopilot function may be temporarily unavailable; this is non-invasive and the system returns to normal once the blocker is deactivated. A rear-axle steering warning may also be displayed on the dashboard while active; this clears automatically upon deactivation. No engine or mechanical function is affected. Clearing stored fault codes after removal is recommended.
Trunk access while active — 5th Gen Facelift (2025–present): The check-engine light remains illuminated while the mileage blocker is in use. Remote start is unavailable. The boot/trunk cannot be opened while the mileage blocker is activated; once the blocker is deactivated the trunk operates as normal. The warning does not affect engine performance. Clearing stored fault codes after removal is recommended.
Optional OBD2 automatic eraser
The optional OBD2 automatic eraser is a compact dongle that plugs into the vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port. While connected, it automatically clears certain stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) during the ignition cycle. On supported vehicles, this can help restore remote functions that may otherwise be disabled by fault codes associated with mileage-blocker use.
It does not prevent or remove the check-engine light while the mileage blocker is in use. It clears codes; it does not repair an underlying fault. The remote functions restored depend on the vehicle and selected version.
